The Trump administration relies on a strategy of systematically destroying evidence of anything that doesn’t fit their imaginary worldview. Destroying weather satellites monitoring global warming. Canceling contracts on vaccines. Defunding university research across just about every discipline. Removing common sense safety nets like foodstamps and Medicare. Firing anyone unwilling to cook the books. Defunding public education and public news services. Every decision is exacted to maximize human suffering, to increase human ignorance, to keep citizens misinformed, uninformed, uninsured, uneducated, unprotected, unhealthy, and for many: unalive. These bozos are white knuckling our country into the future, relying on the infamous ostrich strategy because they are too immature/stupid/greedy to deal with any information they find inconvenient or an impediment to the consolidation of wealth among the 1%. They are fleecing us all. And every single one of us will suffer unnecessarily for this, though no one moreso than the already vulnerable.

To quote Carl Sagan: “Dismay that the Universe does not conform to our preferences seems childish”—here we are: a plurality of Americans have handed the keys to the United States to a bunch of children.
